Tips for Success

  • Check the student agenda nightly. Be sure the student is filling it out for each class by writing the daily assignment or class lesson in the space provided in the agenda.
  • Hold the student responsible for good work and study habits. The student should be the one to hand in work and return correspondence between school and home. See the policy for late work.
  • Note the handbook rules for turning in assignments after an absence. Assignments will not be given prior to a student leaving (example: family vacation) In this instance, a student will need to make up for missing work when they return.  It is very difficult to know what will be covered in the future.
  • Check over graded papers regularly. Go over mistakes with the student and ask them to make corrections.
  • Be sure the student has necessary supplies.
  • Check the agenda for upcoming test dates and assignment or project due dates. Begin preparing early.Studying briefly for several days is more effective than a long study period the night before a test!
